Born 1954, Lidingo, Sweden. Lives and works in Locmaria-Plouzané, France. Pianist and composer, he has forged his own musical direction weaving melodic lyricism and intimacy, contrasting with flashes of violence and irony. He delights in eclecticism, bringing together traditional, contemporary and improvised musical forms. His lyrical sense merges with menace to create a kind of musical subversion dripping with melody, emotion and atmosphere.

Pianist, composer, and improviser, Christofer Bjurström began studying classical piano and chamber music gravitating to wider musical areas: pop, traditional, jazz, electro-acoustic and contemporary. For more than fifteen years, he has been working on music for stage and disk, playing in his own jazz groups, songwriting, accompanying singers but also composing for theatre and film, predominantly silent movies. His experience in all these fields and his appetite for cross-cultural musical encounters has brought together traditional music from Scandinavia and Africa, electronic music and improvisation. He is co-founder the cooperative label Marmouzic.
