Born in 1942 in Brussels (Belgium). Aged 10 Guy Lukowski decided to teach himself guitar. His leaning initially towards the classical repertoire brought him into contact with Narciso Yépès, Oscar Caceres and Alberto Pons. He began his international solo career playing the repertoires of Sor, Giulliani, Brouwer, Bream and Villa-Lobos. Remaining professor of medieval literature at Liège university, he performed all over the world as a recording artist for E.M.I. In 1977, he founded the International Guitar Festival of Liège inviting, amongst others, Pat Metheny, Paco de Lucia, John MacLaughlin and Baden Powell. It was in the context of the festival that he created the "Histoire du Tango" suite with Astor Piazzolla. His contribution to the Cézame catalogue is Recuerdos Del Sur / Latin American Classical Guitar (CEZ 4050) which he also produced.
