Born Saint Maur des Fossés, France in 1967. Lives and works in Paris. Born a European but African at heart, Rico Brinx immersed himself in world music travelling through Senegal, Mauritania, Laos and Vietnam meeting with traditional music masters like Vinh Bao in Saigon and Ousman Gangué in Nouakchott. A guitar-player first and foremost, Rico studied jazz at the CMCN in Nancy then composition and arrangement at the American School of Music in Paris.
